CONFORMED TO WHAT?

What happens to a frog when the weather turns cool? His body temperature lowers and he slows down. Eventually, during the cold winter months, his body enters a state in which he is alive, yet to all appearances, he is dead. God magnificently made frogs so that their bodies could conform to this world’s temperature and thus, they survive.

Humans are a different matter altogether. God warns us in the Scriptures:

“Do not be conformed to this world."

Why? Because, when we conform ourselves to this world’s ways, bit by bit we drift away from a holy God who desires our holiness.

One unknown author, in fact, put it this way: “The penalty of sin is gradually getting used to it and not caring if it is sin."

Let us not become conformed to this world’s ways!

Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

Heavenly Father, I thank You that You command us NOT to conform to this world. Please show me, in my life, what exactly that means. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
