OUR DESTINATION

She knew that her journey would be difficult. She even knew approximately when she would arrive at her destination. And best of all, she knew the destination itself.

Our friend, Lindsey, had just been told by her doctor that she had only six months to live on this earth. Her death was inevitable. Shocking news! Tears were shed, fears laid aside. She knew her destination. At her death, she would go Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus. She was assured of her destination, having been a faithful disciple.

Jesus, too, knew that His journey would be difficult - leading to His ultimate destination - the cross. Then He would go Home to be with the Father.

It took special grace for Jesus to walk His journey to the end of His life on earth. It will take special grace for Lindsey to walk her journey. For us, too. We may not know when or how, but we know that we are on a journey - headed Home. May we accept all of God’s help and grace so that we, like Jesus, can journey in a way pleasing to the Father.

Thy eyes behold my unformed substance; in Thy book were written every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there were none of them. Psalm 139:16

Heavenly Father, thank You for every day of my life which You have planned, from beginning to end. I leave the details in Your hands, knowing that my destination is Home, too. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
