THE WHY OF LIFE

Have you ever been sick in bed, unable to carry out your regular responsibilities? Did you begin to feel quite useless as you were unable to get up to dress yourself, unable to fix yourself some food, unable to go about your normal daily activities? As time stretched on and your health did not improve, did you wonder if you’d ever get back to your regular life again?

You thought of the many people who have had to live their lives in constant pain, in weakness, debilitated by illness….without any hope of living a life as you have known it - full and busy.

You began to wonder what you would do if you were confined to bed, unable to return to life as you know it. What would be the value of your life? Then you remember a Scripture from long ago which was often recited:

Worthy art Thou, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for Thou didst create all things and by Thy will they existed and were created. Revelation 4:11

Then you realize…it is not in the doing of our life which gives glory and honor and praise to God... it is in our being.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love . . . just because we are Your creation. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
