FAITH . . . SOMETIMES?

While switching the television channels recently, I heard a woman exclaim, “Sometimes we have to go on faith.”

I have no idea to what situation she was referring, but I immediately thought - faith in God isn’t a sometimes kind of thing. It is an everyday action, absolutely necessary.

Faith, defined by the dictionary, is: “complete trust, confidence or reliance”. Faith, defined by Scripture in Hebrews 11:1, is: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Certainly it can be seen that faith in God who is loving and just, must be an always, moment by moment, day by day action of the heart and mind. Faith isn’t optional, it is mandatory for each of us who call ourselves believers in God and followers of Jesus.

After all, Scripture also says:
“And without faith it is impossible to please Him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

Heavenly Father, please increase my trust, confidence and reliance on You as I set about knowing You more each day. In Jesus’ name. Amen
