FULL OR PARTIAL RECOVERY?

Infection raged in the first patient. Taking the full dosage of antibiotics until they were done, the patient recovered fully within two weeks.

In the second patient, infection also raged. After just a few days of antibiotics, the patient felt better so, against medical advice, stopped taking the medication. Within days a more dangerous, widespread infection returned, threatening the patient’s life.

Sin is like an infection in our lives. If we allow the Lord to only partially eradicate sin, it returns to plague us again and again. If, however, we place ourselves into the merciful hands of God, confess our sin and turn from it completely, we are then free . . . forever!

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodies, to make you obey their passions.
Romans 6:12

Heavenly Father, I thank You that I don’t have to limp along in life, always struggling against sin, never conquering it. I thank You that, because of Jesus’ death in my place, I can turn away from sin and walk before You in joy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
