RACING
In the sports world there are all different kinds of races. Some races involve running, some swimming, some with hurdles.
Potential racers spend long hours in training, preparing for the season in which their particular race will be held. They look forward in anticipation to show to the world the result of all the hard work they have put into training for that season.
May I ask you - for what season and race is God preparing you? Or maybe you are already living within the season of your race. Perhaps you are being called upon at your place of employment to run the race of loyalty or steadfastness. Or at home, you are being called upon to run the race of patient endurance. Or with the care of elderly parents, your race may involve gentleness.
May we each run the race well which God has specifically given us at this season in our lives.
. . . and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith . . . . Hebrews 12:1-2
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the race You have called me to run and for all of the training and strength which you are daily providing. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
