Have you ever felt just horrible about something you have done? Perhaps you spoke disrespectfully and sharply to your spouse. Or you disciplined your child in anger. Or you hurt a friend’s feelings by forgetting a birthday. Or you did something far worse . . . .How thankful we can be that God has given us each a conscience which speaks loudly and clearly when we trespass His ways and laws. How thankful we should be when we have that uncomfortable feeling inside of us which prompts us to deal with an area of our life which displeases God. How thankful we should be when He prompts us to make things right.
May we honor that part of ourselves which is God-given for our benefit. May we listen to that small inner voice each moment throughout the day.
Blessed are those who have a tender conscience. Proverbs 27:14
Heavenly Father, please keep my spirit sensitive to You speaking through my conscience. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
