GOD'S LIGHT ON US

The woods across the lake were just beginning to change into their autumn dress. It had been gray and gloomy all day until, just before the sun set, a burst of light turned the woods a golden color. Never would I look again at those trees without seeing them bathed in glorious light.

God sometimes does this in our lives, too. Life can be going along quite normally day after normal day. Then all of a sudden God shines His precious light on our lives. Perhaps He shines His light on something which pleases Him - our love for Him, our loyalty to Him, our service to Him. Or He may shine His light on something which displeases Him.

No matter what God shines His light upon, the terrain of our lives is never the same again. Once He has spoken to us about a matter, we know we must listen and heed.

If our lives display something which pleases Him, we know we must continue practicing that particular action or attitude to perfect it. If God shines light on something which displeases Him, we know that we must change - His grace will be fully operational within us to accomplish what He is revealing and expects of us.

If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant as though a floodlight is shining on you. Luke 11:36

Jesus said to the people, "I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't be stumbling through the darkness because you will have the light that leads to life." John 8:12

But if we are living in the light of God's presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each other and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin. I John 1:7

Heavenly Father, please send Your light to me in my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.
