It happens too frequently: You receive a telephone call asking you to help. You respond with a yes. A chance encounter brings another request. Again you say yes. The requests begin to pile up, one on top of another. Because you were asked . . . because you feel honored to have been asked . . . you say yes. You assume God is opening doors so you can serve.
Your calendar overflows with too many commitments . . . your body is stressed . . . your mind is burdened . . . you cry out to God.
God reveals to you that a need on someone else’s part does not mean it is God who is calling you to meet that need. Your responsibility is to obey Him.
Never assume ! Always ask for clear direction from God before saying yes to anything. Then proceed, but only if He gives you a clear YES!
Don’t assume . . . ask God!
Keep back thy servant from presumptuous sins and let them not have dominion over me.
Psalm 19:13
Heavenly Father, I thank You that You only give me those things to do which You empower me to do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
