Think about one of the most memorable days in your life. When you awoke in the morning, you probably had no idea that something so special was going to happen. Perhaps it was the day your parents surprised you with your first bicycle. Or the day you received a call telling you that you were hired for a job you’d wanted. Or the day you became a grandparent for the first time.
Most memorable days begin in an ordinary fashion. We have no idea that something surprising is just ahead. Then all of a sudden, the commonplace is flooded in delight as God surprises us with His goodness. May we see the continual surprises of God.
How precious is Thy steadfast love, O God!
…Thou givest (us) drink from the river of Thy delights. Psalm 36:7-9
Heavenly Father, please open my eyes and heart to see Your delightful surprises You have created just for me. In Jesus' name. Amen
