SEEING CLEARLY

Have you ever kicked yourself for not being able to see a danger area in your life more clearly? Perhaps you took a job which was filled with pitfalls and snares which you couldn’t see at first. Or your child, unseen by you, was having to endure bullying. Or a situation in your home was endured because you couldn’t see the solution.

Often, as is God’s way, He eventually lifts our blindness - we can suddenly see a job for what it is. We can see our child’s torment. We see home situations for what they truly are. And we act as God directs to correct the situation.

Then we begin to kick ourselves asking: “Why didn’t I see this sooner?” We begin to blame ourselves endlessly. But if we will listen to God, He may show us why - that we are human. Maybe we just couldn’t see.

Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely just as God knows me now. I Corinthians 13:13.

Think about the two men on the Emmaus Road after Jesus’ crucifixion. Those men were walking with Jesus and they couldn’t see who He was at that moment . . . until their eyes were open. Then they SAW!

“But they didn’t know who He was because God kept them from recognizing Him.”
Luke 24:16

May we have open eyes and open hearts to see when God reveals Himself to us.

Heavenly Father - thank You for bringing clarity to my eyes and heart in Your timing. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
