Winter came late to the Great Lakes Region. In November and December, it felt like spring as everyone, young and old, took advantage of the warm temperatures. People could be seen out walking, biking and finishing their yard clean-up. Comments from here and there could be heard as gratefulness overflowed when they realized that God was being merciful in delaying winter.
Then it hit. As arctic air flowed into the region, lake effect snow bands could be seen as they dumped inches…then feet of snow. Grumbling now took the place of gratefulness.
When something good arrives from the hand of God, we are grateful. Shouldn’t our reaction be the same when difficulties arrive?
Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never anything hard? Job 2:10
Heavenly Father, please help me to accept the good and the difficult as coming from Your hand and for Your purposes. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
