THE SNOW QUEEN
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. I Timothy 2:1
Have you ever heard of the Snow Queen? During each Christmas season during the 1950s and onward, she could be found at the Miller & Rhoades Department store in Richmond, Virginia.
Families with children would travel for miles around to stand in line to be greeted by the Snow Queen. In her sparkling long white gown, she would chat with a child, finding out his or her name and a little bit about them. When it was that child's turn to see Santa personally, somehow Santa already knew them. He even knew their name. No one could ever figure out how he knew…
I am reminded that we (male and female) are a bit like that Snow Queen. Here on earth our paths cross with so many different people. Sometimes we find ourselves taking a person before the throne of grace in prayer. God already knows that person's name. He already knows what that person needs. After all, He created them. And yet it must bring a smile to God's face to have one of His own children bring another child of His before the throne.
Heavenly Father, please keep my heart sensitive to your gentle nudging as You bring various people to mind throughout the day. In Jesus' name.
